Monitoring packet flow

Use HCL SafeLinx Monitor to view packet flow through the SafeLinx Server.

Before you begin

Note: The SafeLinx Server must be running to use the HCL SafeLinx Monitor.

About this task

The monitor displays real-time usage statistics for a SafeLinx Server. On Windows, a graphical version of the monitor is available, and on Linux there is both a graphical and a command line version. For HTTP access services, the graphical version of the monitor provides high-level usage information only, displaying statistics for the SafeLinx Server as a whole, including number of active sessions, current and peak session rates, CPU load average, packets per second, and so forth. The Linux command line version of the monitor provides detailed usage statistics for each HTTP access service.

For the mobile network connections (MNCs) that are used by SafeLinx Clients, both the graphical and command line versions of the monitor display detailed statistics for each MNC.

For a complete description of the command line parameters and a description of the output that is displayed, see the HCL SafeLinx Command Reference.
