Extending HCL OneDB™Beyond standard relational database objects, HCL OneDB™ can be extended to handle specialized data types, access methods, routines, and other objects. HCL OneDB™ includes many built-in extensions that are fully integrated in the database server. HCL OneDB™ also provides DataBlade® modules, which are packages of extended database objects for a particular purpose and that are installed separately from the database server. Alternatively, you can create your own user-defined objects for HCL OneDB™.
Creating extensionsYou can create user-defined data types, routines, access methods, and other database objects to suit your needs. You can use application programming interfaces to write user-defined routines and applications that access data in HCL OneDB™ databases.

Installation packaging files

Installation packaging files

BladeSmith generates the following installation packaging files that you can modify with BladePack in the project\install directory.

Table 1. Installation packaging files
File name	Description
project.bom	A bill of materials file. This file contains an entry for each file to be installed. The entry includes the path to the source file and the path where the file is installed.
project.cmp	Lists the main components and subcomponents in the installation package.
project.prd	The main product file that you open with BladePack. This file lists other files that define the installation package. Initially, this file contains entries for the .bom, .cmp, and .str files. Add readme files by using BladePack.
project.str	Defines character strings used in the installation.
