Extending HCL OneDB™Beyond standard relational database objects, HCL OneDB™ can be extended to handle specialized data types, access methods, routines, and other objects. HCL OneDB™ includes many built-in extensions that are fully integrated in the database server. HCL OneDB™ also provides DataBlade® modules, which are packages of extended database objects for a particular purpose and that are installed separately from the database server. Alternatively, you can create your own user-defined objects for HCL OneDB™.

Test and debug your DataBlade® module in a nonproduction HCL OneDB™ database server environment because debugging interferes with the operation of the database server.

To use the debugging features of the DBDK Visual C++ Add-In, you must have a local database server.

Before you begin testing and debugging your DataBlade module, verify that your database server is running properly. Use the Setnet32 utility to complete the Server Information page and create a default database server. Create a database with SQL Editor; if the command succeeds, your server is properly configured and the DBDK Visual C++ Add-In works properly.
