Extending HCL OneDB™Beyond standard relational database objects, HCL OneDB™ can be extended to handle specialized data types, access methods, routines, and other objects. Informix® includes many built-in extensions that are fully integrated in the database server. Informix® also provides DataBlade® modules, which are packages of extended database objects for a particular purpose and that are installed separately from the database server. Alternatively, you can create your own user-defined objects for Informix®.

Excalibur text search typesThe OneDB® Excalibur Text Search DataBlade® module supports various searches, such as keyword, Boolean, proximity, pattern (or fuzzy), and phrase. Phrase searching can be classified into two types: exact and approximate.

The OneDB® Excalibur Text Search DataBlade® module search supports two types of phrase searches: exact phrase search and approximate phrase search.

Important: Exact and approximate phrase searches can be performed only on columns whose etx indexes were created with the PHRASE_SUPPORT index parameter. You encounter an error if you search for a phrase in a column whose index was not created with PHRASE_SUPPORT.
