General enhancements

The following enhancements are provided in Notes 14.0.0.

Disable the Lotusscript Debugger

Disable the Lotusscript Debugger using Desktop policy. For more information, see User/server configuration features.

Auto-Upgrade from Notes 32-bit to Notes 64-bit

Auto-upgrade now upgrades to 64-bit from 32-bit clients. For more information, see Installation features in the Domino documentation.

Improved Java Script Editor

  • The look and feel of the Java Script Editor is improved.
  • Content assist: CTRL + SPACE, CTRL + CLICK and DOT ( . ) operator.
  • The Outline tab displays functions and variable names.
  • Automatic tag creation based on context.

Preferences grouping and numbering

Prior to Notes 14.0.0, preferences were organized in a flat list. To improve usability, the following enhancements are provided for Preferences in this release:
  • Grouping
  • Create a numbering scheme

JVM upgrade

  • JVM for the Notes Client has been upgraded from Java 1.8 to Java 17.
  • Windows and Mac clients support Java 17.

JDK 17 is the -open source reference implementation of version 17 of the Java SE Platform, as specified by JSR 390 in the Java Community Process. For more information on new features, please refer to the open JDK website.

Eclipse Upgrade (4.6 to 4.22)

  • New features in the Platform and Equinox.
  • New features for Java developers.
  • New APIs in the Platform and Equinox.
  • New features for plug-in developers.

Compiler upgrade

In Notes 14, the C++ compiler has been upgraded from VC 2017 to VC 2022 on Windows.
