Cache variables

Cache variables provide a means of processing information throughout a flow instance without requiring that the information to be passed through data links.

Cache variables are name-value pairs that persist, unless deleted, until the flow instance completes its execution.

Cache variable names cannot start and end with an underscore (_). A variable that starts and ends with an underscore is considered reserved, internal variable. It cannot be set or manipulated, from a user defined node of a flow. Cache variable names are case-sensitive and associate a value in text format.

Cache variables fall either under external or internal categories.
  • External - Redis is used to store the cache variables.
  • Internal - Handled with in the process memory object pool.
