Informix® OLE DB Provider sets the DELIMIDENT environment variable in Setnet32 to Y, so that it encloses all identifiers in quotation marks in the SQL it generates (for example, when it executes an update). You can override this behavior by setting the DELIMIDENT environment variable to N.

Tip: Identifiers are case sensitive when enclosed in quotation marks.
