Changing the download server

Use these steps to change the download server which connects to the My HCLSoftware Portal.

About this task

  1. Open autoupdate.nsf on the current download server.

  2. Create a replica of autoupdate.nsf on the new download server. Note that this may take an extended period of time, depending on how many software downloads are stored in autoupdate.nsf.

  3. Close autoupdate.nsf on the current download server, and open it on the new download server.

  4. Open the database ACL.

  5. Ensure that either LocalDomainServers has the Administrator role enabled, or there is an entry for the new download server which has the Administrator role enabled.

  6. Open the names.nsf on an administrative server.

  7. Click Actions > Edit Directory Profile, then click on the Product Updates tab.

  8. Change the value of the "Download Server" field to the new download server and save the document.

  9. Replicate the changes to the current and new download servers.

  10. On both servers, issue the console command: restart task autoupdate
