Deploying IBM Connections Docs 2.0 CR3Welcome to the IBM Connections Docs 2.0 CR3 documentation, where you can find information about installing and deploying IBM Docs 2.0 CR3. IBM Docs is a collaborative productivity suite that enables you to work on documents, spreadsheets and presentations together in the cloud. If you have IBM Docs 2.0, IBM Docs 2.0 CR1, or CR2 already installed, to install CR3, you only need to download the IBM Docs 2.0 CR3 zip package from FixCentral and extract the package. Then follow the instructions in the PDF file to install CR3. But if you have a version prior to IBM Docs 2.0, before installing CR3 package, you must follow instructions in this guide to install and deploy IBM Docs 2.0.
Upgrading or migratingYou can upgrade IBM® Connections Docs from the previous two releases to the current release by using the installer or upgrade scripts. You can also install the latest release on new hardware and then do a side-by-side migration from the old to the new.
Migrating to IBM Docs 2.0You install IBM® Connections Docs 2.0 on new hardware with the previous version of IBM Docs kept intact on old hardware. Then you must perform a side-by-side migration of data to make sure the new system work well with no missing data, and the transition to the new system is transparent to end user.

Migrating the datastore to the network shares

Migrate the docs_share and viewer_share directories.

Procedure

Back up the old locations where document data is stored:
1. From the web console of the old environment, find the path of the docs_share and viewer_share directories from Environment > WebSphere variables > DOCS_SHARED_DATA_ROOT and VIEWER_SHARED_DATA_ROOT.
2. Back up the entire docs_share and viewer_share directories.
Restore the document data to the new locations:
1. From the web console of the new environment, find the path of the docs_share and viewer_share directories from Environment > WebSphere variables > DOCS_SHARED_DATA_ROOT and VIEWER_SHARED_DATA_ROOT.
2. Copy the data store from the docs_share directory on the old server to the docs_share directory on the new server. Then copy the data store from the viewer_share directory on the old server to the viewer_share directory on the new server.
  Note: Be sure to copy the full directory of docs_share and viewer_share.
3. Delete the contents of docs_share/dataStore and viewer_share/dataStore on the new storage server.
