Upgrading or migratingYou can upgrade IBM® Connections Docs from the previous two releases to the current release by using the installer or upgrade scripts. You can also install the latest release on new hardware and then do a side-by-side migration from the old to the new.
Migrating to IBM Docs 2.0You install IBM® Connections Docs 2.0 on new hardware with the previous version of IBM Docs kept intact on old hardware. Then you must perform a side-by-side migration of data to make sure the new system work well with no missing data, and the transition to the new system is transparent to end user.

After the side-by-side migration, there might be changes in draft format. If you want to keep the drafts from previous versions, you must complete this task. If not, when you edit your old document in 2.0, the drafts will be updated to the 2.0 format. What's worse, you might not be able to open the drafts in 2.0.
