Deploying IBM Connections Docs 2.0 CR3Welcome to the IBM Connections Docs 2.0 CR3 documentation, where you can find information about installing and deploying IBM Docs 2.0 CR3. IBM Docs is a collaborative productivity suite that enables you to work on documents, spreadsheets and presentations together in the cloud. If you have IBM Docs 2.0, IBM Docs 2.0 CR1, or CR2 already installed, to install CR3, you only need to download the IBM Docs 2.0 CR3 zip package from FixCentral and extract the package. Then follow the instructions in the PDF file to install CR3. But if you have a version prior to IBM Docs 2.0, before installing CR3 package, you must follow instructions in this guide to install and deploy IBM Docs 2.0.
InstallingTo install IBM Docs, complete the following procedures in the sequence shown.
Pre-installation tasksA series of pre-installation tasks must be completed before you can deploy the IBM Docs infrastructure. These tasks include installing the system prerequisites and configuring both Windows™ and Linux™ operating systems.
Preparing the IBM Docs database infrastructureIBM® Connections Docs has dependencies on IBM DB2 or Oracle database products.
Configuring the database class path in each Docs serverIBM® Connections Docs requires access to the JDBC drivers for the appropriate database. A driver must be installed on both of the Docs servers.
Installing Oracle files on the IBM Docs serverThe IBM Docs servers require copies of the appropriate driver files to allow them to access the Oracle databases for IBM Docs. Use the following procedure to install them on your IBM Docs servers.

Installing Oracle files on the IBM Docs server

The IBM Docs servers require copies of the appropriate driver files to allow them to access the Oracle databases for IBM Docs. Use the following procedure to install them on your IBM Docs servers.

Procedure

Log in to the Oracle server.
Find the Oracle driver files (ojdbc6.jar) in the following locations:
- Windows™: %ORACLE_HOME%/jdbc/lib/ojdbc6.jar
- Linux™: $ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib/ojdbc6.jar
Copy the files into the appropriate directory on the IBM Docs server. For example: /opt/Oracle/.
Note: The location that these database files were copied to must be the same as the value specified for the db_jdbc_driver_path in the cfg.properites file when you deploy each IBM Docs servers.
