Deploying IBM Connections Docs 2.0 CR3Welcome to the IBM Connections Docs 2.0 CR3 documentation, where you can find information about installing and deploying IBM Docs 2.0 CR3. IBM Docs is a collaborative productivity suite that enables you to work on documents, spreadsheets and presentations together in the cloud. If you have IBM Docs 2.0, IBM Docs 2.0 CR1, or CR2 already installed, to install CR3, you only need to download the IBM Docs 2.0 CR3 zip package from FixCentral and extract the package. Then follow the instructions in the PDF file to install CR3. But if you have a version prior to IBM Docs 2.0, before installing CR3 package, you must follow instructions in this guide to install and deploy IBM Docs 2.0.
InstallingTo install IBM Docs, complete the following procedures in the sequence shown.
Pre-installation tasksA series of pre-installation tasks must be completed before you can deploy the IBM Docs infrastructure. These tasks include installing the system prerequisites and configuring both Windows™ and Linux™ operating systems.
Configuring IBM Docs shared storageThe shared storage for the Editor Server and Document Format Conversion Server uses NFSv3 or CIFS, and the shared storage for the Viewer Server and Document Format Conversion Server uses either NFSv3 or CIFS. Procedures for both the NFS and CIFS cases are provided -- complete the tasks appropriate to your deployment.
Configuring the NFS SharesIBM Docs can utilize a NFS, CIFS or a dedicated storage file server to share data between the different IBM Docs components. File Viewer and Conversion as well as IBM Docs and Conversion need to both access shared storage directories for documents and configuration information.

IBM Docs can utilize a NFS, CIFS or a dedicated storage file server to share data between the different IBM Docs components. File Viewer and Conversion as well as IBM Docs and Conversion need to both access shared storage directories for documents and configuration information.

This section guides you through setting up the server-side shared storage and then providing access to this shared storage from the IBM Docs, Conversion server, and File Viewer servers. In addition, it also guides you through setting up the IBM® Connections file content directory access and shares for File Viewer if needed.

Note: You configure the NFS on a NAS or Linux™ server. When configuring the access to the share, the UID and GID values must match the values that the WebSphere® process is using to run. For example, if the server is running as root, the UID and GID values must be 0 and 0.
