Changing Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) settings

In some customers' environment, SEP (Symantec Endpoint Protection) is running on the Conversion server. Its default configuration causes serious NFS access performance issue. Follow the steps to change SEP settings to avoid this problem.

About this task

Note: We take SEP V11 as an example in the following steps. For V12 or versions above, the user interface might be a little different.

Procedure

  1. Right-click the SEP icon on the Conversion server, and select Open Symantec Endpoint Protection.
  2. In the SEP window, click Change settings in the left panel, and then click the Configure Settings button of Antivirus and AntiSpyware Protection settings in the right panel.
  3. Click the File System Auto-Protect tab in the displayed window.
  4. Clear the check box of Scan files on network drivers, and click OK.
