Creating a logical database resource

When you want HCL DevOps Test Integrations and APIs (Test Integrations and APIs) to access to a database, you must first create a logical database resource in your project.

Before you begin

You must have completed the following tasks:
  • Completed setting up of a Kubernetes cluster in your IT infrastructure and set up a database in the Kubernetes cluster.
  • Created a project in Test Integrations and APIs and opened the project in the Architecture School perspective.

Procedure

  1. Open the Logical View of Test Integrations and APIs Architecture School perspective.
  2. Perform the following steps to create a service component:
    1. Click General > Service Component from the menu.

The New Service Component dialog is displayed.

    2. Enter a name for the service component.
    3. Click OK to save the service component in the Logical View.
  3. Create a database server by performing any of the following actions:
    1. Select the service component that you created.
    2. Click General > Database Server from the menu.

The New Database Server dialog is displayed.

    3. Enter a name for the database server.
    4. Click OK to save the database server under the service component in the Logical View.

Results

You created a database server as a logical resource under a service component in your project.

What to do next

You can create the physical database resource with which Test Integrations and APIs needs to interact. See Creating a physical database resource.
