Upgrading to HCL® Local License Server 3.0 on Linux

If you installed the older version of HCL® Local License Server, then you must uninstall the older version to install the latest version.

Before you begin

You must use the root user credentials to perform uninstallation and installation of HCL® Local License Server.

Procedure

  1. Run the following command to stop Flexnet License Server – HCL Service:
    systemctl stop flexnetls-HCL
  2. Copy the log folder in /var/opt/flexnetls/HCL to a different path.
  3. Rename the copied folder as Backup_HCL_LLS_VersionNumber_log (with the Year, Month, Date, and time).
  4. Run the following commands: 
    systemctl disable flexnetls-HCL
rm -rf /var/opt/flexnetls/HCL
rm -rf /var/opt/flexnetls
rm -rf /opt/flexnetls/HCL
rm -rf /opt/flexnetls
rm -rf /etc/systemd/system/flexnetls-HCL.service
rm -rf /etc/systemd/system/flexnetls-HCL.service.d
  5. Delete the Flexnetls or flexnetsas folder in the temp folder if they are present.
  6. Restart your system.
  7. Install HCL® Local License Server 3.0.

Results

You have upgraded HCL® Local License Server to the latest version.
