Creating a base ClearCase view

Use the ClearCase® View Creation wizard to create a base ClearCase view.

1. Click the icon on the ClearCase toolbar or select Create View from the ClearCase menu to start the View Creation wizard.
2. Perform one of the following actions:
   • If you are creating a Web view or automatic view and the CCRC WAN server that you want to use appears in the Select a server for your new view box, select it. If you are not connected to the server, click Connect, enter your login information, and click OK.
   • If you are creating a Web view or automatic view and the server you want to use does not appear in the box, click Connect, enter the server URL and login information, and click OK.
     Note: If you are trying to connect to a CCRC WAN server and you do not know the server URL to use, ask your project manager.
   • If you are creating a Dynamic view or snapshot view, select the ClearCase Local node, which is a context for accessing ClearCase resources on the Local Area Network.
3. Select the Create a base ClearCase view option.
4. Click Next to display the Create a ClearCase view page.
5. Specify a view tag (and copy area path name if you are creating a web view) or accept the defaults and click Finish to create the view.
