Sharing files and folders

Sharing files is a great way to collaborate in a community. By encouraging members to upload files, you can work together on shared documents and build up a repository of community information

Uploading Files

To upload files to the community, take the following steps:

  1. From the Files app on the Overview page, click Add. If you're the first person to share files, you'll see Add Your First File instead.
  2. To upload a file from your local file system, take the following steps:
    1. Click New Upload....
    2. Drag and drop the file you want to share into the Upload page. Alternatively, click Browse... and select the file from your local file system.

Sharing files

To share a file, take the following steps:
  1. From the Files app on the Overview page, click Add > Share File With the Community...
  2. Select the type of file that you want to share from the options.
  3. Select one or more files from the list that displays.
  4. Specify whether you want to allow community members to edit the file or files.

Sharing folders

To share a folder, take the following steps:
  1. From the Files app on the Overview page, click Add > Share Folder With the Community...
  2. Select a folder category from the My Folders drop-down.
  3. Select the folder or folders that you want to share.
  4. Specify whether you want to allow community members to edit the file or files.
