Installing with Installation Manager from a shared network drive

This scenario outlines how to install both an HCL product and IBM Installation Manager from a shared network drive. Users enter configuration information during the installation.

Procedure

  1. Download the HCL product and IBM Installation Manager from the HCL Software License & Download Portal.
  2. Extract the installation files for the HCL product to a shared network drive. Verify that the directories containing the installation files are shared directories.
  3. Check user requirements before installing. HCL products require administrator access.
  4. Mount a directory or map a shared drive from the shared network drive to the local computer.
  5. Install the HCL product and Installation Manager.
    1. On the local computer, open a command prompt.
    2. Go to the disk1 directory, which is located on the shared network drive.
    3. Start the installation by running the install command: For Windows, type install.exe. For Linux and UNIX systems, type install.
  6. Go through the Installation wizard and enter configuration information during the installation.

Results
