Upgrading the test bed

About this task

Upgrade the test bed and verify that the procedure was successful. To upgrade the test bed:

  1. Start the Maintenance Tool. Click Start Program Files /Compass/Maintenance Tool.
  2. From the Existing Connections list, select the connection to the schema repository that you want to upgrade.
  3. On the Maintenance Tool menu, click Schema Repository Upgrade Selected Connection.
  4. At the prompt to upgrade user databases, click Yes to continue.
  5. Log in with Super User privileges.
  6. Select the feature level and enter the properties of the schema repository to which you are upgrading. To perform an in-place upgrade, specify the properties of the Source Schema Repository in the New Schema Repository area. Then click Next.
  7. At the prompt to upgrade the schema repository, click Yes to continue.
  8. Select the feature level and enter the properties for the first user database to which you are upgrading. Then click Next. Repeat until you have associated all the user databases. Click Finish. Your schema repository and user databases are upgraded, and you are notified when the process is complete. All actions are recorded in a text file in the \Temp directory.
  9. Verify that the upgrade process completed successfully:
    1. Read the status message carefully to confirm that the process completed successfully (scroll to the end of the message). Click Done.
    2. Test the application. Enter a few test records of each record type and move them though the entire state model.
