Migrating your production database is completed in two parts: migrating a copy (or offline version) of your production database, and migrating the live version of your database. The offline IBM Websphere Commerce Version 8 database is the IBM Websphere Commerce Version 8 database that you restored to your HCL Commerce Version 9 environment.
        Migrating your live database
        Migrate your live IBM Websphere Commerce Version 8 database by putting your IBM Websphere Commerce Version 8 live store in maintenance mode, and pointing your HCL Commerce Version 9 environment to the live IBM Websphere Commerce Version 8 database.
      - Migrating encrypted data
        When migrating IBM Websphere Commerce Version 8 to HCL Commerce Version 9.0 you must migrate your encrypted data. Previous versions of WebSphere Commerce allowed for your site to use 3DES (16bit merchantKey) or AES (32bit merchantKey) encryption. In HCL Commerce Version 9.0, only AES encryption is used.
