Uninstalling WebSphere Commerce Developer fix packs with the IBM Installation Manager

You can uninstall WebSphere Commerce Developer fix packs using the IBM Installation Manager that you used to install WebSphere Commerce Developer. Fix packs contain fixes that correct known problems and hence might prevent a service call from being placed. Before uninstalling a WebSphere Commerce fix pack, review this information.

Before you begin

  • If you changed your database type after installing a fix pack, change the database back to the original type before uninstalling the fix pack.

  1. Open the IBM Installation Manager.
  2. Select an appropriate option:
    • If you installed WebSphere Commerce Developer and a fix pack at the same time, this option removes both the fix pack and WebSphere Commerce Developer.
    • If you installed a fix pack after installing WebSphere Commerce Developer, use the Roll Back option.
Roll Back Roll back reverses updates. If you used the Update option to apply a fix pack to an existing WebSphere Commerce development environment; then use this option to uninstall the fix pack. The WebSphere Commerce development environment is not uninstalled. If the IBM Installation Manager does not have the files that are required to roll back, the Installation Manager repositories list needs the location of the media image of the previous fix pack version. To specify the location:
    1. Click the File menu and select Preferences > Files for Rollback.
    2. Select Roll Back.
    3. On the Roll Back Packages page, choose the WebSphere Commerce Developer package group that contains the fix pack you want to roll back from.
    4. Click Next.
    5. Select the fix pack version that you want to roll back to and click Next. Review the summary information that is presented on the page.
    6. Click Roll Back.
  3. On the Uninstall Packages page, select the packages you want to uninstall (for example, a fix pack you want to remove) and click Next.
  4. Review the summary information presented on the page. Click Uninstall.
  5. Restore the database backup to the point where it was before you applied the fix pack on instance
