WebSphere Commerce Developer

Troubleshooting: WebSphere Commerce Developer does not start

If you have Rational Application Developer installed, WebSphere Commerce Developer can fail to start if you do not have the RAD_HOME variable set correctly in the setenv.bat file.

Problem

WebSphere Commerce Developer does not start.

Solution

If the WebSphere Commerce development environment cannot start, ensure that you have a supported Rational Application Developer installed and that the RAD_HOME variable in the setenv.bat file is set to the full path to the supported Rational Application Developer.
Note: You must manually modify RAD_HOME in the setenv.bat file if you upgrade or install a supported Rational Application Developer version after WebSphere Commerce Developer is installed.
To correct the value of RAD_HOME:
  1. Open the following file in a text editor: WCDE_installdir\bin\setenv.bat
  2. Locate the line containing RAD_HOME and ensure that its value is set to the full path of Rational Application Developer.
  3. Save your changes and exit the text editor.
Note: If the Enterprise Explorer is empty after starting WebSphere Commerce Developer, examine the contents of WCDE_installdir\logs\setup.log. If the setup.log is empty or has errors, manually re-create your workspace.
