Proxy exceptions

If the BigFix server uses a proxy for Internet connection to access fixlet sites or prefetch downloads, the BigFix Inventory server must be added to an exception list to ensure that the catalog propagation works properly.

In an environment with a proxy, propagation of the catalog might fail because the BigFix server connects to the proxy to download the catalog file instead of connecting to the server directly. To ensure that the problem does not occur, add the following entries to the proxy exception list in the BigFix server configuration:
  • IP address of the server
  • FQDN host name of the server
Additionally if the BigFix server is installed on the same computer as server, add the following entries to the proxy exception list:
localhost, 127.0.0.1
