Creating a scan based on a template using AppScan Standard scan properties

Create scans that use templates that are based on scan configuration options from AppScan Standard. An easy-to-use wizard (AppScan Dynamic Analysis Client) takes you through the scan configuration options, including action-based login and manual explore features.

About this task

  1. This task is usually completed by a developer with limited user permissions.
  2. Standard Users have full user permissions to edit the Basic and Additional options in the AppScan Dynamic Analysis Client.

Procedure

  1. In an Application tab in the Monitor view, click Create Scan.
  2. In the Create Scan page, pick a folder and a template.
    Note:
    1. If you select an import template, start at Step 2 of this topic, Creating an import scan.
    2. If your organization has upgraded from an earlier version of AppScan Enterprise, existing templates are left untouched. If there are naming conflicts, the new template names are appended with (9.0.2).
  3. Click Create.
  4. Download and install the AppScan Dynamic Analysis Client if it is not installed on your computer. You only need to download it once, no matter how many scans you create.
  5. In the AppScan Dynamic Analysis Client, complete the screens of the Client. On the Job Properties page, make sure that you select a Folder and Test Policy, or the job is not created.
  6. You can associate an application with the scan in the Client, or in AppScan Enterprise. If the scan is running when you return to AppScan Enterprise, wait until it is finished and then associate it with an application.
  7. Click Create Job to return to AppScan Enterprise.
  8. In AppScan Enterprise, click Done.
