Administering Unica Discover involves configuring and integrating the Unica Discover client framework with your web applications or mobile native applications, installing and administering the databases used by Unica Discover, defining event objects and configuring events, hit attributes, dimensions, and other object attributes used by Unica Discover to monitor mission-critical metrics of your web application's performance.
This section contains preparation information and the required steps to install Unica Discover Data Export on an existing Unica Discover system.
It is necessary to perform configurations of your Unica Discover deployment. Depending on your Discover solution deployment, more configuration might be necessary.
Now that the Unica Discover Data Export software was installed and the Unica Discover Data Export server was configured, you can create your first Unica Discover Data Export task.
Unica Discover Data Export provides you with the ability to analyze and report on data captured by Discover within various third-party solutions, including custom reporting tools and databases, warehouses, business intelligence environments, and web analytics products. Additionally, Unica Discover Data Export enables the creation of a persistent store of session data from your web applications.
To install Data Export, complete the following steps.
In order for events and their data to be made available for export through Unica Discover Data Export, the Searchable and Reportable check box must be selected in the event definition in the Event Manager. This setting must be selected for each event that you want to export through Unica Discover Data Export.

To use the data files options, you must customize a set of provided scripts to create a set of database tables to receive the outputted database files and to insert data into the databases.
Certain prerequisites are required to perform the initial configuration of Unica Discover Data Export.
Unica Discover Data Export requires its own Discover server to manage extraction and data output.
You can review session data by selecting a time period between Extract From and Extract To values to define a time period of session data that you would like to review.
