Managing security access

Security on HCL Universal Orchestrator works on two levels:
Dynamic Workload Console security
Dynamic Workload Console security is managed from the Administration menu, Manage roles page. This level of security defines what a user with a specific role can see when logged in a Dynamic Workload Console. From here you can:
  • Add new Dynamic Workload Console roles
  • Add entities to Dynamic Workload Console roles
  • Pin pages for each Dynamic Workload Console role
For further information about how to configure Dynamic Workload Console security, see Dynamic Workload Console workload security scenario.
Engine security
Engine security is managed from the Administration menu, Manage workload security page. This level of security defines which actions a user with a specific role can perform on a specific engine, either from the Dynamic Workload Console or from Orchestration CLI. From here you can:
  • Create new roles
  • Manage existing roles
  • Manage folders
  • Assign roles to users or groups
  • Manage the accesses of users and groups
For further information about how to configure engine security, see Engine workload security scenario.

These two levels of security work in concert to guarantee a secure working environment. It is advisable to configure both types of security when setting up security accesses for users and groups in order to maximize the level of security on your environment.
