HCL VersionVault includes two independent build programs, clearmake and omake. The sample build scenario that follows uses clearmake. However, both programs incorporate the major VersionVault build-related features, including configuration lookup, derived object sharing, and config record maintenance.

The strength of omake lies primarily in its support for users who require compatibility with other build programs designed for personal computers, including Borland Make, Microsoft NMAKE, Intersolv Polymake, and OPUS Make.
