Troubleshooting MultiSite operationsWhen you encounter a situation where running an HCL VersionVault MultiSite command produces an unexpected result, or produces a warning or error message, the information in this section can assist you in troubleshooting the problem.
Transport problemsThis section describes problems that can occur during the transport phase of synchronization.
Delivery failsEach time the shipping server cannot deliver a packet to a valid destination host, it logs error messages.

Delivery fails

Each time the shipping server cannot deliver a packet to a valid destination host, it logs error messages.

For example:

(Linux® and the UNIX® system) In file /var/adm/hcl/versionvault/log/shipping_server_log and writes a message to the terminal device, if there is one.
(Windows®) In the Windows Event Viewer. You can use the cleartool getlog shipping command to view shipping_server messages from the Event Viewer.

If the problem is temporary (remote host is down, network connections are down, and so on), a subsequent invocation of shipping_server –poll will transmit the packet successfully. If the problem is not temporary, the shipping order may expire eventually.
