Using GUIs to list or edit policies and rolemaps

Several GUIs are provided for listing and editing policies and rolemaps.

Listing policies and rolemaps

When you open the HCL VersionVault Type Explorer for Windows and select a VOB at feature level 8 or higher, you can see folder icons for the policies and rolemaps that it contains. These folders are not visible for VOBs at lower feature levels. If you navigate to the policies folder, you can see the DefaultPolicy and any other policies that have been created in the VOB. Right-clicking on a policy opens a menu that allows you to clone, rename, or delete a policy as appropriate, and to view its properties. Note that the properties displayed are minimal; they do not include the permissions or role mappings. The same functions are available for rolemaps, if you navigate into the rolemaps folder.

On Windows, UNIX systems, and Linux, you can use clearhistory to perform the same functions for a VOB's policies and rolemaps.

Editing policies and rolemaps

HCL VersionVault Explorer provides a graphical editor for policies and rolemaps.
