Verifying the Unica Plan upgrade

You must upgrade and deploy the Unica Platform before you upgrade Unica Plan.

About this task

Complete the following steps to verify the upgrade:

Procedure

  1. Review the log files in the application server logs directory for error messages. The message "UAPContext Init failed" indicates that the upgrade did not complete successfully.
  2. Use Internet Explorer or another supported browser to access the Unica URL.
  3. Navigate to different Unica Plan features, including the asset file. In case you see two "Operations" or "Plan settings" menus, go to Settings > Plan settings, click Synchronize Menus, logout from the application and login again.
  4. Create instances of different Unica Plan objects, including plans, programs, projects, and your own custom marketing object types.
  5. Note: This step is applicable only if you plan to migrate offer management from Unica Plan to Unica Centralized Offer Management using the Migration to Centralized Offer Management utility.
    If you are using reverse proxy or web access management software (ISAM, Siteminder, etc), populate serverURLInternal with the direct internal URL of Unica Centralized Offer Management.

  6. Select Settings > Plan Settings > Template Configuration and then click Validate Templates.
  7. Click Synchronize Menus. Logout from the application, login again, and verify the Plan Settings menu item.
  8. If your installation customizes Unica Plan with the application programming interface, verify that your customizations are not affected by compatibility issues.
  9. If you use trigger procedures, restore them.
