When to republish landing pages

When you make a change to an Deliver document used to define a landing page hosted by Unica, you must publish the document again to make the change available to email recipients who navigate to the page through a link in a personalized email.

Deliver creates multiple versions of published landing pages. Each time you start a production mailing that references a published landing page, the system checks to see if the landing page has been referenced by any other production mailing. The system does not perform this check when you run a test mailing.

  • If the currently published version of the document has been referenced by a production mailing, the system automatically creates a new version of the document that contains your changes. The system creates a new version and saves the previous version at the start of the mailing run.

Creating a new version preserves the content of the previous version for use by email recipients who received the earlier mailing.

  • If the landing page defined by the document has never been referenced in a production mailing, the system overwrites the currently published version of the document.

Deliver manages access to the multiple versions. If you republish a landing page several times, several versions of the document will exist in the system. Deliver manages multiple versions of landing page documents automatically, and provides email recipients with access to the version of the landing page content according to the email link they use to access the page.

You cannot access the individual versions of the landing page from the Deliver Message Editor. You can see only the most recently published version of the page.
