Preparing Apache Hadoop Hive user data sources for Unica Campaign
Follow the steps below to enable Hive-based Apache Hadoop data sources to be used in Unica Campaign
A. Install a Hive ODBC driver
This is the first step to integrate Unica Campaign with Hive-based Apache Hadoop data sources. You must install either the DataDirect Hive ODBC Driver from Progress Software or the Cloudera Hive ODBC driver from Cloudera, Inc.

    You must run the Unica installer to start the installation of Unica Campaign and Unica Optimize. The Unica installer starts the product installer during the installation process. Make sure that the Unica installer and the product installer are saved at the same location.

Before you begin

KornShell (ksh) must be installed on the Unica Campaign listener (analytic) server.

Procedure

Obtain the Progress DataDirect Connect ODBC driver (Progress DataDirect Connect64(R) for ODBC Release 7.1.5) for Apache Hadoop Hive: https://www.progress.com/products/data-sources/apache-hadoop-hive
Download and install the DataDirect Hive driver on the Unica Campaign listener (analytic server):

PROGRESS_DATADIRECT_CONNECT64_ODBC_7.1.5_LINUX_64.tar.Z

[DataDirectNew]# gunzip PROGRESS_DATADIRECT_CONNECT64_ODBC_7.1.5_LINUX_64.tar.Z

[DataDirectNew]# tar -xvf PROGRESS_DATADIRECT_CONNECT64_ODBC_7.1.5_LINUX_64.tar
Run the following command to start the installation:

>> ksh ./unixmi.ksh
Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
Perform basic testing of the driver:

>> ./ddtestlib /opt/Progress/DataDirect/Connect64_for_ODBC_71/lib/ddhive27.so
