Planning IBM Traveler on IBM® i

There are several IBM® i operating system considerations to be aware of when planning the IBM Traveler server installation on IBM® i.

For considerations and information on installing in a High Availability (HA) environment, see High Availability (HA).

Verifying authority to install and set up IBM Traveler on IBM® i

The administrator who installs and sets up IBM Traveler must sign on to the system with a user profile that has the required authorities.

To install the IBM Traveler software, your user profile must have the following special authorities:
  • All object access (*ALLOBJ)
  • Security administration (*SECADM)
To add IBM Traveler to a Domino® server, your user profile must have the following special authorities:
  • All object access (*ALLOBJ)
  • Security administration (*SECADM)
  • System configuration (*IOSYSCFG)
The IBM® i security administrator has the required authority to install and set up IBM Traveler. If you are not the administrator, use the Display User Profile (DSPUSRPRF) command to determine if your user profile has the required authorities. To check your user profile, follow these steps:
  1. Type the following IBM® i command and press Enter, where <user-id> is the name of your user profile.
    DSPUSRPRF <user-id>
  2. Press the PAGE DOWN key and look for the special authority field to display the special authority for the user profile. If your user profile does not have the required authority, ask the security administrator to either install and set up the IBM Traveler server or add the required authority to your user profile.
