Manually removing WebSphere Application Server on IBM i

Remove WebSphere® Application Server on IBM® i manually if you have removed all Sametime® servers from the system, and no longer want the program installed.

Before you begin

Stop all servers running on the WebSphere Application Server system. See the topic Starting and stopping servers running on WebSphere Application Server. If the server belongs to a cluster, you will also need to stop all node agents in the cluster, and then stop the Deployment Manager. Finally, close all browsers and command windows that may have been accessing the WebSphere Application Server.

About this task

After uninstalling a Sametime server from IBM i, WebSphere Application Server will still be installed on the system. You may choose to uninstall WebSphere Application Server only if it is not in use by any other server on the system.

Stop all Java processes. Then follow the steps in the WebSphere Application Server 7 product documentation to remove unneeded WebSphere Application Server software from the system:
