Manage Application Settings
You can access the Sametime settings from the navigation drawer to control the behavior of the HCL Sametime® app.
Notifications
This setting controls the Sametime notifications. If you are on an Android 8 or newer device this opens the system notification panel for the app. If on an Android 6 or 7 device, it opens the application notification panel.

Manage Application Settings
You can access the Sametime settings from the navigation drawer to control the behavior of the HCL Sametime® app.
- General
  These settings are for general control of the Sametime app including:
- Contact
  The Contact settings allow for control in the contacts view.
- Notifications
  This setting controls the Sametime notifications. If you are on an Android 8 or newer device this opens the system notification panel for the app. If on an Android 6 or 7 device, it opens the application notification panel.
- Audio/Video
  This setting allows the user to select their default microphone and video setting when starting or joining a meeting. By default the microphone will be muted and the camera set to off.
- Cellular Data Preferences
  Use these preferences to determine the behavior for meetings when not on a WiFi connection. By default, users will be joined in audio-only mode and not be allowed to download or play meeting recordings when using a cellular connection. This is to minimize data plan usage.
- Troubleshooting
  This option is disabled by default. By enabling it, logs are saved from the application to track potential issues.

Notifications

This setting controls the Sametime notifications. If you are on an Android 8 or newer device this opens the system notification panel for the app. If on an Android 6 or 7 device, it opens the application notification panel.

For Android 8 and newer device the system notification options are:

Announcement – Enabled by default, controls notifications when an incoming announcement is received
Chat – Enabled by default, controls notifications when an incoming message is received
Invitations – Enabled by default, controls notifications when an incoming invite, such as when you are invited to join a group, is received
Status – Enabled by default, controls notifications for status changes

For Android 6 and 7 devices, the following notification settings are available:

Enable sound – Enabled by default, this plays a notification sound for any incoming notification, such as a message, invitation or announcement
Enable vibration – Enabled by default, it vibrates the device for an incoming notification
Enable light – Enabled by default, it flashs the device LED for an incoming notification
