Viewing test logs

After you complete a compound test or schedule run, you can view the log files for output details, error messages, and any failure information related to the test or schedule.

Before you begin

You must have completed the following tasks:

  • Installed HCL OneTest API Extension for HCL OneTest API.

  • Installed HCL OneTest Performance Agent and HCL OneTest API Agent to run tests remotely.

  • Imported HCL OneTest API project, that contains your integration tests.

Procedure

  1. Open the HCL OneTest API project you are connected, or that you imported, which contains your tests.
  2. Click the Results folder, and then select the test in the Test Navigator.
  3. Right-click the test, and then click the Display Test Log option.
    The Test Log pane is displayed.
  4. Click the Events tab within the Test Log pane.
    View the errors, failures, and pass results for each event in the test.
  5. Click the RIT std.output > localhost.
  6. Click the Extended Properties > Attachments.
    View the RunTestOutput0 and RunTestError0 files available in the Attachment section.
  7. Select any of the following files, and then click Open.
    1. RunTestOutput0 file: Use this file to view the output or results of the integration test.
    2. RunTestError0 file: Use this file to view any issues or errors that occurred during the test run.
