Using repository locations

If you have Installation Manager installed, and you downloaded and extracted the installation packages to your computer, you can start the installation by specifying the location of the installation file repositories.

Before you begin

  • Download and install Installation Manager. For assistance, see the Installation Manager Knowledge Center. .
  • Download the core installation package for the product from the Shareport portal and extract it into a folder on your computer.
  • If you were using a product from the IBM suite of testing products earlier and want to reuse the test assets from those projects in an HCL testing product, follow these instructions:
    1. Export all the test assets with dependencies from the IBM testing product.
    2. Uninstall the IBM testing product.
    3. Install the HCL testing product. For instructions, see Installing HCL OneTest API.
    4. Import the test assets with dependencies to the HCL workspace.

About this task

After downloading the core installation packages, you must create repository locations that point to the diskTag.inf file in the package. If there are multiple packages, you must create repository locations for each package. If a package contains multiple disks, create repository locations pointing to each diskTag.inf file or supply the information when prompted during the installation.

Procedure

  1. Start an existing instance of Installation Manager and provide the location of the installation package as a repository:
    1. In Installation Manager, click File > Preferences.
    2. Click Add Repository and provide the path to the diskTag.inf file that is in the directory into which you extracted the package.
