WebSphere® MQ software requirements

You must be aware of certain software requirements for using IBM® WebSphere® MQ for HCL OneTest API.

WebSphere® libraries

To enable HCL OneTest API to work with WebSphere® MQ, you must use HCL OneTest API Library Manager to specify the locations of the HCL® libraries that are used for accessing WebSphere® MQ.

The following versions of IBM® WebSphere® MQ are supported:
  • WebSphere® MQ V8.0
  • WebSphere® MQ V9.0
  • WebSphere® MQ V9.1.2

You can configure different versions of those libraries depending on the version of WebSphere® MQ that is used. HCL OneTest API Library Manager lists the required libraries that are required for each version of WebSphere® MQ and also the default location that HCL OneTest API uses. The default location for the specified libraries can be modified in the Library Manager.

For more information, see Working with Library Manager.

Important: Starting in V10.0.2 HCL OneTest API ships with the required JAR files to communicate with WebSphere® MQ. The Library Manager configuration for WebSphere® MQ is not necessary for new installations. For upgrades from existing installations where a WebSphere® MQ provider is configured in Library Manager, the existing configuration might be used. If no such provider is configured, the new default pre-installed provider is used. If required, the configured provider can be changed in Library Manager.
Notes:
  • While you work with WebSphere® MQ V8.0 and later, you must configure the required client connection authentication type and specify either the operating system user account or the LDAP lookup details. For more information about security, see the related links.
  • For configuring WebSphere® MQ 8.0 onwards to support anonymous access, see the related links.

JMS interface libraries (optional)

The JMS interface can be used to interact with WebSphere® MQ.

For more information about JMS, refer https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/java-message-service.html. For more information about WebSphere® MQ JMS, see Testing with IBM WebSphere MQ messages.

To use the JMS interface to access WebSphere® MQ, if required, you can create a provider under WebSphere® MQ in Library Manager and specify the locations of the relevant libraries.

You can configure different versions of those libraries depending on the version of WebSphere® MQ being used. HCL OneTest API Library Manager lists the required libraries that are required for each version of WebSphere® MQ and also the default location that HCL OneTest API uses. HCL OneTest API is used to modify the default location for the specified libraries.
