Extending HCL OneDB™Beyond standard relational database objects, HCL OneDB™ can be extended to handle specialized data types, access methods, routines, and other objects. HCL OneDB™ includes many built-in extensions that are fully integrated in the database server. HCL OneDB™ also provides DataBlade® modules, which are packages of extended database objects for a particular purpose and that are installed separately from the database server. Alternatively, you can create your own user-defined objects for HCL OneDB™.

Character setsWhen you create an etx index, you specify the character set the search engine uses by setting the CHAR_SET index parameter. The value you specify determines which characters in your text data are indexed and which are treated as white space.
The OVERLAP_ISO character setThe ISO Latin-1 character set is a superset of the ASCII character set. In addition to the standard ASCII characters, this character set contains the ISO Latin-1 alphabetic characters, arranging the ISO characters into groups of similar-looking characters so that they will share the same numeric values. Uppercase and lowercase characters are grouped together.

The OVERLAP_ISO character set

The ISO Latin-1 character set is a superset of the ASCII character set. In addition to the standard ASCII characters, this character set contains the ISO Latin-1 alphabetic characters, arranging the ISO characters into groups of similar-looking characters so that they will share the same numeric values. Uppercase and lowercase characters are grouped together.

Four exceptions that defy convenient categorization are assigned their own unique values and are listed in the following table.
