Hardware requirements

Before you install client products, make sure that your computer meets the hardware requirements.

Disk space and memory requirements for installation

The following disk space and memory requirements for installing the client products are approximate. The requirements for some operating systems might be lower.

Disk space: Client SDK: approximately 200 MB; Some installation choices require additional disk space. The installation application informs you of the total disk space required by your setup before you copy the binary files to your computer.
RAM: UNIX, Linux: 512 MB; Windows: 256 MB
Temporary disk space: You can change the location of the temporary directory by setting the IATEMPDIR environment variable before you run the installation application.; UNIX™, Linux: 1 GB free space is required in your temporary directory (/tmp by default). If the temporary directory does not have enough space, the installation application attempts to write the information into the home directory of the user account.; Windows™: 1 GB free space is required in your temporary directory (C:\tmp by default).

Restrictions

Linux: Client SDK does not support RPM installations.
