The following topics describe how to configure the HCL Traveler for Microsoft Outlook (HTMO) client as well as Traveler server configuration required to support this client.
- Installing HCL Traveler for Microsoft™ Outlook
  HCL Traveler for Microsoft™ Outlook (HCL mail client) provides the code you need to access your HCL Notes® mail with Microsoft Outlook.

  After installing the Traveler server, configure it for use with HCL Traveler for Microsoft™ Outlook (HTMO).

  - Changing the summary data time limit
    By default, messages that are more than 30 days old at the time they are synced are truncated and show just summary data until they are opened. Users can customize the interval at which only summary data is shown by using the set_config command with the SummaryFilterWindow parameter.
  - Specifying internet addresses for rooms
    The HCL Traveler server requires internet addresses for rooms. Internet addresses aid in room display and room configuration and help prevent server name exposure. If your organization uses rooms that do not have internet addresses, internet addresses are generated for them.

Configuring Domino mail server settings

Recommended settings for the mail servers

For servers running v11.0.1 or below, set the Notes.ini described in this topic (for servers running 12.0 or above, this is already the default behavior).

To ensure calendar interoperability between the HCL Traveler for Microsoft Outlook client (HTMO) with external event organizers, it is recommended that the following notes.ini be set on all mail servers, including the Traveler server(s):

An example scenario that this setting is intended to address:

In Gmail (Google) Calendar, create a new meeting and invite an HTMO user.
From the HTMO client, accept the meeting. An acceptance notification is sent.
The Gmail user never receives the acceptance notice, and the invitee's status is still appears as "Waiting" on the Google calendar

If all servers are not running Domino® release 9.0.1 or higher, there is a remote potential to have rescheduled calendar entries from external meeting organizers appear as invitations. This happens if the original invitation arrives on a 9.0.1 (or higher) mail server yet the reschedule notice is delivered to a mail server running a version earlier than Domino® 9.0.1.
