    You can test a schema by generating test data for an item or a group. The schema designer creates source and compiled maps that generate and validate the test data. The test-data-generation map automatically runs and produces a text file with the sample data. After that, the test-data-validation map automatically runs on the sample data file.

Guidelines for defining an explicit fixed group

In a fixed group, each component must be either an item of fixed size, an item padded to a fixed length, or an explicit fixed group.
The range maximum for each component must have a specific value; it cannot be s. A fixed amount of space is assumed in the data stream for each series member of a component in a fixed group.
