Extending Informix®Beyond standard relational database objects, HCL Informix® can be extended to handle specialized data types, access methods, routines, and other objects. Informix® includes many built-in extensions that are fully integrated in the database server. Informix® also provides DataBlade® modules, which are packages of extended database objects for a particular purpose and that are installed separately from the database server. Alternatively, you can create your own user-defined objects for Informix®.

About this task

The DBDK Visual C++ Add-In toolbar is present in the Visual C++ program if you installed DBDK after you installed Visual C++. If it is not present, you must add it manually.

To manually load the Visual C++ Add-In

Procedure

Close your project.dsw file.
Choose Tools > Customize.
On the Add-Ins and Macro Files page of the Customize dialog box, check the box for DBDKAddIn.1.
If the box for DBDKAddIn.1 is already checked, clear it, close the Customize dialog box, and then repeat steps 2and 3.
Click Close.
Open your project.dsw file.
