Deploying applications and viewing responses
After an HCL Domino Volt application is built it must be deployed. After it is deployed, you can supply users with the URL of the application so they can launch it. After users submit completed forms, you can view the responses.

- Adding formulas to your application
  Use formulas to assign values to items on an HCL Domino Volt form or app page. They are divided into two categories: Item Formulas, which list formulas created from the Properties panel, and General Formulas, which list complex formulas created from the Settings tab.

    Deploying an HCL Domino Volt application makes it available for users. When you click Deploy, the application is loaded onto a server. You can deploy an application immediately.

  - Upgrading applications
    Once an application has been deployed, it is unwise to continue editing the live production version - it is not possible to test the application in that scenario without deploying to the live production environment. Volt 1.0.1 provides an Upgrade feature, which enables developers to evolve a parallel copy of the application and then upgrade the production version only after all the changes have been made and also tested in the working copy.
  - Launching an application
    After an HCL Domino Volt application is deployed, the Launch link is enabled. When you click Launch, the live application opens in a new window.
  - Viewing submitted responses
    After users complete and submit forms, you can view the submitted responses. Responses are available compiled into summary charts, or as a list of individual forms.
  - Importing data in view responses
    Application Owners can use an Import Data operation on the View Responses page to import spreadsheet data into their application. This can provide a quick start method for adding many records/rows of data into an application from an existing spreadsheet.
  - Defining permissions to share data with other applications
    HCL Domino Volt applications can share data through services with other Domino Volt applications. To allow other applications access to the data from the application you are designing, you must define the security permissions.

Updating a deployment

The following instructions describe how to update the deployment of an HCL Domino Volt application.

About this task

There are many reasons why you might need to update a deployed application (for example, to update the deployment parameters). To update a deployment:

Procedure

Go to the Manage tab and click Deploy for the application.
The Deployment Setting window opens.
Modify the deployment settings: To update a deployment, update the deployment settings and click Update.
