Accessing external databases through LS:DO
Developers are advised not to use LS:DO. Developers should use the Connector LSX for (LCLSX) when accessing external data sources.

    LotusScript® Extensions for Connectors (LC LSX) enhances the power of Notes® by extending its scripting to data outside of Notes through the use of Connectors. The programming model is independent of the individual connector.         Read-write. Indicates whether a result set is read-only. Can be set to True to prevent updates.

        Returns the alteration status of the current row.

        Retrieves the value of the column referenced by column_id%, and copies the results to the variable field.

        Indicates whether values in the current row have changed in the data source; that is, indicates whether values differ from what was fetched into the result set.
        Examples: HasRowChanged method
        This example contains an action (the Click sub) that updates a row. Before the update occurs, a check is made to see if another program updated the row since this program fetched it.
      - IsBeginOfData (ODBCResultSet - LotusScript)
        Indicates whether the cursor position is at the beginning of the result set.
      - IsEndOfData (ODBCResultSet - LotusScript)
        Indicates whether the cursor position is at the end of the result set.

        Indicates whether the execution of a query yielded any data.
      - IsValueAltered (ODBCResultSet - LotusScript)
        Indicates whether a column value was altered by SetValue.

        Sets the current row position to the last row in the result set.

HasRowChanged (ODBCResultSet - LotusScript)

Indicates whether values in the current row have changed in the data source; that is, indicates whether values differ from what was fetched into the result set.

Syntax

status = odbcResultSet .HasRowChanged

Return value

True indicates that values in the database changed since they were last fetched.
False indicates that values are not altered.

Usage

Result set values changed by SetValue are separate and do not affect this method; use GetRowStatus to find changes made within the program. HasRowChanged indicates changes made by other programs.

This statement can fail when the result set includes columns with Image or Rich Text data types or when rows are not identified uniquely. To avoid these failures, see "Working with data retrieved from an external database" in LotusScript Coding Guidelines."
