Linking to an applet on the Web

About this task

Before you link to a Java™ applet on the Web, you must enable Java™ applets on your workstation.

Procedure

  1. Open a page or form, or click in the rich text field of a document.
  2. Select Create - Java™ Applet.
  3. In the Create Java™ Applet dialog box:
    • Select "Link to an applet on a Web server."
    • In Base URL, enter the URL where the applet files are stored. Do not specify the document that references the applet. For example, use
         http://java.sun.com:80/applets/Bubbles
   http://java.sun.com:80/applets/Bubbles/index.html
    • In the Base class name field, enter the name of the main class. Note that Java™ is case-sensitive to file names.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Optional: Set applet parameters, attributes, and properties.
