Configuring the DataDirect Oracle Wire Protocol

This section describes how to configuring the DataDirect driver for Oracle Wire Protocol for use on your ODBC connection document.

Note: These instructions are for a Microsoft Windows platform. For the UNIX and IBM i platforms, the procedure varies in that you must have an odbc.ini file configured properly and resident in your odbc directory. See the subsection below, entitled "Configuring your odbc.ini file for UNIX Users" and "Configuring your odbc.ini file for IBM i Users" for details.
  1. Navigate to your list of available drivers/driver pack download.
  2. From the Add menu, select the correct version DataDirect Oracle Wire Protocol from the list of available drivers and click OK to open the ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol Driver Setup dialog box.
  3. On the General tab, specify a data source name (DSN), host, port number, and SID.
    Note: The DSN that you specify on this dialog box is the DSN that you will enter in the Data Source field of the ODBC connection document.
