Paragraph margins tab

About this task

Designer automatically sets the right margin for display based on the size of the window. Designer uses the left margin you specify for display and printing. It uses the right margin you specify for printing.

Procedure

  1. Select the paragraph(s).
  2. Choose Text - Text Properties.
  3. To set margins for a hotspot, button, attachment, or object, select the item and choose <Item> - <Item> Properties.
  4. Click the Paragraph alignment tab.
  5. Choose "Absolute position" (inches) or "Relative" (percentages) in the boxes for the left and right margins.
  6. Adjust margins in the Left and Right text boxes; click the check mark to save.

Results

To set tab stops, enter numbers in inches or centimeters (for example 1" or 2.5cm). Separate tab stops with semicolons (for example, 1.5";2.5";3"). Enter L, C, R, or D before the tab stop to specify a left, centered, right, or decimal tab stop, respectively (for example, C1" or R2.5cm).

  1. Select the paragraph(s).
  2. Choose Text - Text Properties.
    Note: To set tabs for a hotspot, button, attachment, or object, select the item and choose <Item> - <Item> Properties. (Notes® sets tabs for the paragraph that contains the item.)
