Upgrading or migrating
You can upgrade HCL Connections™ Docs from the previous two releases to the current release by using the installer or upgrade scripts. You can also install the latest release on new hardware and then do a side-by-side migration from the old to the new.

You can upgrade HCL Connections™ Docs from Docs 2.0.0.x to the current release by using the installer or upgrade scripts.

To upgrade HCL Docs 2.0.0 to 2.0.1, run the installer.

  To install HCL Docs, complete the following procedures in the sequence shown.
- Upgrading or migrating
  You can upgrade HCL Connections™ Docs from the previous two releases to the current release by using the installer or upgrade scripts. You can also install the latest release on new hardware and then do a side-by-side migration from the old to the new.

      After you complete upgrading all of the components to again make HCL Connections™ Docs available to your users, it is suggested that you do some testing to ensure that your upgrade was successful.

      After upgrading to HCL Docs 2.0, if you migrate or upgrade to HCL Connections 5.5 or 6.0, you must do some additional steps to ensure that HCL Docs 2.0 is working well.
  - Migrating to HCL Docs 2.0.1
    If you install HCL Connections™ Docs 2.0.1 on new hardware with Docs 2.0.0.x kept intact on old hardware, you must perform a side-by-side migration of data to make sure the new system work well with no missing data, and the transition to the new system is transparent to the end user.

  You might need to refer to this section during deployment. HCL Docs supports WebSEAL. This section is for setting up single sign-on (SSO) if installing HCL Docs in the same cell as IBM® Connections.

Upgrading HCL Docs using the Installer

To upgrade HCL Docs 2.0.0 to 2.0.1, run the installer.

About this task

Make sure you upgrade databases when upgrading to 2.0.1 following instructions in Upgrading the database.

Procedure

Download the HCL Connections Docs 2.0.1 package from the HCL License & Delivery Portal. Extract the file to the directory on the federated node where you have run the installer to install HCL Docs.
When IBM Installation Manager is running, click Files > Preferences, add the new repository configuration file for HCL Docs, and click OK.
Click Update and in the Update Packages window, select the package for HCL Docs and click Next.
Review and accept the license agreement by clicking I accept the terms in the license agreements. Click Next.
Keep unchanged the selections for the products integration and components, and then click Next.
Enter the details of your WebSphere Information:
1. Enter the properties of the WebSphere Application Server Deployment Manager:
  
  Administrator ID
  
  The administrative ID of the Deployment Manager.
  
  Administrator Password
  
  The password for the administrative user of the Deployment Manager.
2. Enter the path of the WebSphere Application Server profile that is federated into the Deployment Manager.
3. Click Validate to verify the Deployment Manager information that you entered. If the verification fails, IBM Installation Manager displays an error message.
4. When the verification test is successful, click Next.
Select the web server node, and click Validate. When the verification test is successful, click Next.
Configure server enrollment for each HCL Docs component.
Ensure the password is correct and then click Validate. When the validation is successful, click Next.
In the Database Server panel, ensure the password for the database is correct, and then click Next.
In the Shared Storage panel, enter the client mount point for the Editor Application data share directory on Viewer Server, for example, /opt/IBM/docs_data. For the other fields, keep the values unchanged and click Next.
Select whether to restart web server and Connections. If you select No, you must manually restart web server and Connections later. Click Next.
In the Configurations Generation panel, it lists all the cfg.properties and cfg.node.properties files for upgrading. Click Next.
Click Update.
