Customization

You can customize the Digital Experience platform and interfaces to meet the needs of your organization, users, and user groups. You can adapt the look and feel of the platform to fit the standards of your organization and to customize page content for users and groups in accordance with business rules and user profiles. Users, such as business partners, customers, or employees, can further customize their own views of the DX platform. Users can add apps and portlets to pages and arrange them as they want and control portlet color schemes. By aggregating and presenting the assets with role-based delivery in one place and giving users the power to customize their own DX experiences, the platform gives users a means for doing business efficiently and with high satisfaction across all touchpoints.

Portlets

Portlets are central to the DX platform. As special reusable Java servlets that appear as defined regions on DX pages, portlets provide access to many different applications, services, processes, web content and DAM assets. The DX platform includes ships a rich set of standards-based portlets, including portlets for displaying syndicated content, transforming XML, and accessing search engines and web pages. More portlet and asset solutions, also developer APIs are available on the HCL Software Github repository. Examples include the HCL Experience API, WebDeveloper Toolkit, DX Docker Compose, Angular and React samples for Script Applications, and more.

It is possible to develop custom portlets, too. The portal supports the Java Standard API (JSR 286) that portlet developers can use to create custom portlets.
